Chhattisgarh Police arrest Hindu seer Kalicharan Maharaj from Madhya Pradesh over remarks against Mahatma Gandhi

Police Chhattisgarh on Thursday arrested the Hindu leader of the KaliCharan Maharaj religion from neighbor Madhya Pradesh, four days after the pine was registered with him for allegedly abusing Mahatma Gandhi. He was taken to Chhattisgarh, where he would be taken to court, police said.

According to a senior police officer, three separate police teams were sent to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to arrest him. “We found it 25 km from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. He has taken a rented room near Bageshwar Dham. He was arrested at 4 am and taken to Raipur, where he was expected to reach the afternoon,” said Raipur’s supervisor from the Agrawal Prashant.

KaliCharan, who is a guest in ‘Dharam Sansad’ held in the State Capital of Raipur on December 25-26, allegedly harassed by Mahatma Gandhi and praised Gandina Nathuram for killing him. A pine was listed underneath below the IPC 505 (2) and 294 on Sunday night based on complaints by the Dubey Pramod Congress leader.

The case was registered with KaliCharan in Akola Maharastra Regency as well for his speech in Raipur.

Previously, Pune City Police on Tuesday ordered KaliCharan Maharaj for allegedly giving hatred speeches during the ‘Shivpratap Din’ program held at Pune on December 19.
