Heavy rain caused floods and damage that spread in the financial capital of Pakistani Karachi on Monday, even flooding the business district, officials said.
Most of the underpass was flooded and there was no place to pump flood water, Sindh Provincial Minister Chair, Murad Ali Shah, told reporters.
He said the rain that had never happened before had fallen in three hours.
One death was confirmed in the latest Monsoon rain spell, adding 29 reported since they began last month.
Fources in luxury areas such as the Defense Housing Authority Complex (DHA) and Clifton are flooded with water triggers to the houses.
The main paths of Karachi, which accommodate financial institutions and bank headquarters including the Pakistani central bank, floods and rescue services using ships to reach stranded people.
The Pakistani Navy also took part in aid and rescue operations, said the Navy in a statement.
“Very sad with tragic losses due to heavy rain in Karachi,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Twitter. He offers every possible support for the Karachi government.
The highway that connects the City of Quetta to Karachi is also closed for traffic because the parts are swept away by flash floods.
In Southwest Balochistan Province, around a dozen villages in the Lasbela District submerged when the Winder River overflowed and water flooded the houses.
Navy and local officials have saved around 500 people and local administration from the villages affected by far, government officials Farhan Suleman Ranjho told Reuters.
Last week 64 deaths occurred in various parts of the province of Balochistan when eight dams exploded due to flood water.
The metrology office has estimated more rain in the coming days.
