The fans continued to raise their games when it comes to getting Netflix and other attention in the hope of getting the second season of Julie and ghosts with a US billboard tour.
Julie and Phantoms are music series made by and Cross & David Hoge which released 9 episodes on September 2020. After months of silence from Netflix, the show was canceled in December 2021.
In January 2022, we posted about a large campaign to save Julie and Phantoms including a petition that was quickly close to the 200,000 signature.
The latest efforts of the campaign to save the show have been dubbed the orpheum tour that saw theater, cinemas and advertising boards around the world were taken over by the Save Julie and Phantoms campaigns.
Can you tell me how you came invested in the show yourself and why it means so much to you?
Julie and Fantom were on my radar after Announcing Netflix would cancel it. My best friend, who had seen the show when it was released, told me about how he was disappointed with my news and curiosity resumed. The enthusiasm for the show was contagious, and after I finished the season, I was hooked. He and I talked about how it was confusing that Netflix would cancel the award-winning performances that had been loved by the audience and critics for the themes of inclusivity, inspiration and friendship that supported, very interesting songs, and only a little splash of magic to maintain expectations of Alive During times in the world when we can all use content that is slightly better in our lives. It was my innovative idea of my friend to get a sign at the Orpheum Theater in Sydney, which triggered the current global fan LED initiative to increase the viewers of the show.
How has the reaction been from the cast or the crew of the show
Executive producer Kenny Ortega has posted on his Instagram account about his appreciation to fans to go with a creative length to get attention to the show. Campaign posts have accepted likes, comments, and shares of stories from several cast members and crew, who have encouraged two additional tourism shipment surprised at Allentown, Pennsylvania and Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
What would you hope as a response from Netflix if even it’s not a reversal of the decision?
Netflix has not officially made a statement about cancellation. It’s hard to imagine how they can deny that this popular performance deserves another opportunity, but if it’s not on the card for the other season or feature films to complete the story, fans will be happy to see Julie and Phantoms at the concert. In fact, some cinemas that we have done on the Orpheum project have expressed interest in accommodating shows if they regarding the road. Some fans have also openly campaigned to make Netflix sell rights to other services.
Can you give us a hint at where the tour heads next (ie which countries)?
Part of the pleasure makes the next stop surprisingly, but you can rely on seeing more dates in North America U.K. Foot immediately. Fans who do not live near one of the stops (so far) have participated by holding their own signs to share on social media, some are even in front of the local theater. Because this tour is completely dependent on crowd funding, how many places we can do depend on the fan donation. We are very happy to be able to support local art and have become a blast to work with so many beautiful theater staff all over the world. Stay here for more!
