Head of Minister Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma on Sunday defends his comments against Rahul Gandhi, saying that Congress has created such ecosystems that can speak to India but not opposing the Gandhi family.
Overcoming the rally at Uttarakhand Pollop on February 11, Himanta Bustwa Sarma called Rahul Gandhi to demand evidence of the September 2016 surgical strike and asked whether BJP had demanded evidence of him as “the son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi”.
Even when Himanta Buswa Sarma received criticism for the comment, Assam CM stood with his comments. In a series of tweets on Sunday, Himanta Buswa Sarma posted several screenshots of news reports on congress statements about the 2016 surgical strike.
“Does the wrong stand with our big armed forces? Don’t question their patriotism. Don’t look for what evidence they do for the country,” Sarma said in a tweet.
In Rahul Gandhi’s statement that Pakistan and China were closer now because of the central policy, Himanta Buswa Sarma said that Rahul Gandhi had to know that Pakistan was close to China since the beginning. “He speaks in parliament in such a way that even 5th grade students should not do something like that,” he said.
Himanta Buswa Sarma also accused the Congress “There was no effort to abuse and accused General of Bipin Rawat”. “From the day he became the head of the army, they questioned his abilities. But they were lost when I asked them because they did not respect our brave army. This is new India. Such attitude will not be tolerated again,” he said.
Telangana Congress to file complaint against Himanta Biswa Sarma
Telangana Congress has asked its cadres to file a complaint against Himanta Buswa Sarma at all state police stations. “Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s comments did not oppose the Gandhi or Congress family, but it was an insult to the motherly proverb.

On Saturday, Chairman of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must dismiss Sarma for his remarks about Rahul Gandhi.
The President of the Maharashtra Congress Nana Patole has called Sarma’s comments “unpleasant” and said it “reflects the BJP and Rashtriya culture of Sangh’s Swayams.”
“By making a statement like that, he has shown that his mental balance has deteriorated and he needs to be treated at a good hospital,” said Congress leader.
Young members of the Congress and student wings on Saturday held protests in New Delhi and Assam for Sarma’s statement.
